JATENG - The Banyumas City Police (Polresta) has increased patrols to anticipate security disturbances, including the possibility of spending on each other using saru or sarong war that is usually carried out by teenagers in the month of Ramadan.

"Regarding the sarong war, we are increasing our patrols, namely increased routine activities. We divide the patrols every two hours, both during the day until dawn," said Head of Banyumas Police, Police Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Friday, March 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

During the patrol, he said, his party often encounters teenagers who gather somewhere.

If the activities carried out by the teenagers are deemed negligible, he continued, his party will not hesitate to disperse them to return to their respective homes.

"And we advise the public when there is information or knowing that teenagers will carry out a sarong war, please inform us," he said.

He said the Banyumas Police together with 27 sector police (polsek) spread throughout the Banyumas Regency area would carry out continuous patrols to suppress activities such as sarong war and so on.

"So if there are crowds, then we have ordered all members to disperse the crowd to return to their respective homes," said the Police Chief.

Based on data, the Banyumas Police since the beginning of Ramadan has so far dispersed a crowd of teenagers who want to get involved in a sarong war in the districts of Rawalo and Jatilawang.

In this case, Rawalo Police personnel managed to secure 14 teenagers suspected of wanting to carry out a sarong war in Menanti Village, Rawalo District, on Wednesday, March 13.

On the same day, Jatilawang Police personnel arrested 10 teenagers suspected of being involved in a sarong war in Margasana Village, Jatilawang District.

After being recorded, dozens of teenagers received guidance by involving the school and their respective parents.
