Jalan Kerinci-Bangko Jambi Landslide Repaired, BPJN: Land Movement Slopes Still Occur

JAMBI - Jambi National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) has started repairing landslides that hit the Kerinci-Bangko highway in Jambi Province.

"Currently, the team has been allocated for landslides in the Sanggaran Agung area or the exact location in Muaro Emat, to repair the cross-provincial road or access from Kerinci-Bangko Regency and vice versa, on Thursday morning at around 05.00 WIB and is working," said the Head of the Regional II National Road Implementation Work Unit (Kasatker) Diaz Shodiq in Jambi, Friday, March 15, confiscated by Antara.

He said the landslide occurred due to heavy rains on Thursday, March 14 at 05.00 WIB which resulted in the Kerinci-Bangko (Merangin) district, precisely in the Sanggaran Agung area being buried by landslide material and causing land transportation to be temporarily cut off.

Based on reports from the team in the field, he said, the location of the height of the slope of the upper 50 meters or located at STA 13+500 made it a bit difficult for the team to do so that it took time to open the access road.

"The landslide this time is quite large compared to before, because the point was the same as the landslide location a few days earlier, but this time there was quite a lot of material that fell," he said.

For handling at the location, he continued, it has started today at 09.00 WIB, landslide cleaning has been carried out using two excavators and one bulldozer from PPK 2.4 Jambi and PT KMH.

"As of 11.00 WIB, the landslide material has been handled, but the movement of the upper slope of the land is still happening, so we still have to work extra and the target is that the road can be passed normally smoothly today," he concluded.
