PACITAN - A number of villages in Pacitan Regency, East Java were reported to have experienced a long power outage due to thieves who stole PLN cables and transformers in the Pringkuku and Donorojo sub-districts, in the last few days.

PLN ULP Pacitan manager, Aditya Bimantara, said that there were three villages affected by the blackout due to the theft of PLN cables and transformers, namely Ngadirejan, Nglonggong, and Glinggangan Village.

"Indeed, there was the theft of PLN's transformer cable. The length of the PLN cable is known to have disappeared to 140 meters," Aditya said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 13.

Allegedly, the theft was carried out during a power outage in the two areas.

"Actually, the missing cables often occur in some areas outside Pacitan, and especially in border areas. This has entered Pacitan," he said.

Saat kejadian, kondisi saluran listrik di beberapa wilayah kabupaten Pacitan sedang mengalami banyak gangguan.

Because, in the last two days, bad weather such as heavy rain, landslides at several points, and strong winds have occurred.

"Currently, several villages in two sub-districts whose transformer cables have been stolen have been able to reconnect the electricity," he said.

He hopes for community cooperation to participate in maintaining PLN facilities because it involves the public interest.

The public is asked to immediately report if they find out someone suspicious.

"Please report it to the hamlet or village apparatus, local security forces, or contact the PLN 123 call center service," he said.
