JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian emphasized that the government's stance on the mechanism for determining the governor and deputy governor of the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ) was not appointed by the president, but still directly elected through regional head elections.

"The government's stance is firm, remains in the position chosen or has not changed according to what is currently being held, not appointed.
