Following In Prabowo's Footsteps, Major Teddy Transferred And Now Jabat Wadanyonif 328/Dirgahayu

JAKARTA - Defense Minister (Menhan) Aide General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto, Infantry Major Teddy Indra Wijaya is now occupying a new position as Deputy Commander of the 328/Dirgahayu ParaI Infantry Battalion.

Prabowo, while active as a soldier with the rank of major, served as Commander of the 328/Dirgahayu Para Raider Infantry Battalion during 1987'1991.

Major Teddy's placement was carried out based on the decision of the Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak. Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service (Kapuspen) Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi confirmed the transfer of Major Teddy's position.

"Based on the Decree of the Army Chief of Staff Number 137/II/2024 dated February 26, 2024, Major Inf Teddy became Deputy Commander of the Infantry Battalion (Wadanyonif) Para Raider 328/Dirgahayu Brigif Para Raider 17/Divif 1/Kostrad," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 12.

Teddy, who graduated from the Military Academy in 2011, replaced Major Inf. Ade Fian, who was promoted as Operations Section Officer (Pasiops) of the Sops Infantry Division (Divif) 1 Strategic Reserve Command of the Indonesian Army (Kostrad).

Kristomei explained that the transfer of positions was aimed at fostering an officer's career in the form of a tour of duty/tour of the area.

"There are 348 middle-ranking officers with the rank of captain/mayor in the decision who get promotion/mutation (tour of duty/tour of area)," he said.

Kristomei revealed Major Teddy will officially serve in his new position after handing over positions with his predecessor.

Major Inf. Teddy Indra Wijaya started his military career since 2011 after graduating from the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java.

Teddy, who is part of the Infantry Corps branch, started his career at the Indonesian Army Special Forces Command (Kopassus).

Five years later, Teddy, who at that time held the rank of Lieutenant One, continued to serve as assistant assistant to President Joko Widodo in 2014 2019.

After becoming President Jokowi's assistant aide for five years, Teddy continued his education at the US Army Ranger School in Fort Benning, United States.

He then won the title as the best graduate with two awards, namely the Commandant List Award and the Gold APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). At Fort Benning, Teddy qualified as an elite US Army troop.

From the US, Teddy, who was then the captain, returned to Jakarta and started his duties as an adjutant to the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto since 2020.

In approximately four years, Major Teddy accompanied Prabowo in his various activities as minister and when Prabowo campaigned as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.

However, his duties as an aide will meet the end, Major Teddy will return to the unit, precisely in the 328/Dirgahayu Parader Infantry Battalion in Cilodong, which is under the Linud 17th/Kujang I Kostrad Infantry Brigade.

Prabowo, while active as a soldier with the rank of major, served as Commander of the 328/Dirgahayu Para Raider Infantry Battalion during 1987'1991.

If later Teddy becomes Wadanyonif, he will follow in Prabowo's footsteps when he served in Yonif Para Raider 328/Dirgahayu, which is under the Infantry 1/Kostrad Division.
