During Ramadan, Nightclubs And Restaurants In Sukabumi Are Limited To Operational Hours

SUKABUMI - Sukabumi City Government (Pemkot) issued regulations regarding the operating hours of nightclubs (THM) and restaurants or places to eat in Sukabumi City, West Java during Ramadan 1445 H.

"For THM during Ramadan, temporary operations are not allowed for the operating hours of restaurants or restaurants starting at 16.00 WIB," said Sukabumi City Secretary Dida Sembada at Sukabumi City Hall, Tuesday.

According to Dida, this rule was made to maintain the conduciveness of Sukabumi City during Ramadan 1445 H, so that this holy month should not be tarnished by negative activities of irresponsible individuals who interfere with the sincerity of Muslims who are fasting Ramadan.

In addition, the regulation was made aimed at maintaining tolerance between religious communities, respecting each other and harmony. And it is hoped that all elements of society will heed this rule.

His party has also formed a team tasked with monitoring all THM activities and restaurants during Ramadan. Every day this team patrols to give an appeal to restaurants to open merchandise starting at 16.00 WIB, then visits THM to make sure they don't operate.

"Of course, if someone is found to have violated the rules, they will be given sanctions according to mistakes, but we hope that both THM and restaurant entrepreneurs can adjust during this Ramadan," he added.

On the other hand, Dida appealed to residents and community organizations (ormas) not to take justice into their own hands, such as sweeping THM and restaurants that allegedly violated the rules.

However, it would be better to coordinate with the authorized institution, including the Sukabumi City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol) and the Sukabumi City Police. Because the general public and mass organizations do not have the authority to raid or close THM or restaurants that are suspected of violating operating hours during Ramadan.
