Speedboat Hits Block Cut In OKI Causes 2 Dead And 6 Injured

OKI - Police officers from the Sandar Sungai Baung Base, Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency, South Sumatra evacuated the speedboat involved in the accident that killed two people on the 25-water route of the area. Kapos Polairud Sungai Bung Aipda Aris Wandi said the accident occurred at around WIB this morning when a speedboat hit a lump of wood in the waters of the 25th route of OKI Regency. "The speedboat to Bangka brand Family overturned because it hit a piece of logs floating in the water causing balance to lose and then capsized, the scene was in the waters of lane 25, OKI," he said when confirmed, Antara, Sunday, March 10. His party received a report related to the incident directly to the location. Furthermore, the post members came to the scene to provide security and assistance and then helped pull the speedboat to the riverbank and evacuate all passengers, the speedboat driver and the kernet to the nearest health center. In this incident, two people died, namely Kamsiah (60) and M Lulu Sutomo (42) while six other victims were injured. Although there were two victims who died, he was grateful in this incident that all the victims were not carried away by the river currents or disappeared. He hopes that the families of the victims left behind can accept and let the incident be accepted.

He also appealed to other speedboat drivers to be more vigilant and careful in crossing the waters so that similar incidents can be anticipated.
