TEMANGGUNG - At least eight houses were damaged by strong winds on Saturday afternoon in Temanggung Regency, Central Java.

Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Temanggung Regency, Toifur Hadi Wuryanto, said that the damaged houses occurred in three sub-districts, namely Bulu, Temanggung and Candiroto.

He said that on Saturday afternoon at around 16.00 WIB, strong winds occurred in a number of areas in Temanggung Regency.

"The strong winds caused a number of trees to fall and the roof of the house flew," Taoifur said as quoted by ANTARA, March 10.

He said the strong winds occurred in five sub-districts, namely in Temanggung, Bulu, Kaloran, Candiroto, and Kandangan.

He conveyed that severe damage to a Quran Education Park (TPQ) in Danpagan Village, Bulu District, then Didik's house in Campursari Village, Bulu District, the roof of his house flew and hit the roof of Supiah's house.

"Alhamdulillah, the community together work together to clean up materials and we are trying to collaborate with relevant agencies as soon as possible to jointly help the community to deal with the impact of the strong winds," he said.
