JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo is said to have ordered all his members to anticipate security problems that often occur during the holy month of Ramadan. The problem is brawls and the use of firecrackers.

"The problems that often occur in the month of Ramadan, for example, there are brawls, playing firecrackers is also a concern for all of us," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Shandi Nugroho as quoted on Friday, March 8.

Anticipatory steps are the emphasis of the National Police Chief only to maintain a safe situation when Muslims in Indonesia carry out their religious obligations.

"You can protect yourself and maintain your heart so that devotion in the month of Ramadan can be controlled, can be obeyed in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

On the other hand, Shandi said there had been no specific directive from the National Police Chief ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 2024.

However, it is emphasized that the National Police asks the entire community to welcome the month of Ramadan with joy. Not to forget, you must respect each other between religious communities.
