Hasto Says Megawati Often Meets Figures But Closes In The Middle Of Meeting Issues With JK

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the general chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri, actually closed up often meets national figures. He deliberately did it to avoid noise.

This was conveyed by Hasto when asked about the exact time of the meeting between Megawati and the 10th Vice President and Jusuf Kalla (JK). According to him, Megawati has recently met with pro-democracy figures, one of whom is the former Minister of State Housing Siswono Yudo Husodo.

"Mrs. Mega also accepted the figures, previously, for example with Pak Siswono and then also had meetings with democratic figures. Only closed meetings were held because they avoided unnecessary noise," Hasto told reporters at the UI Campus, Depok, Thursday, March 7.

Meanwhile, regarding the meeting between Megawati and JK, Hasto did not want to talk much. However, he admitted that he had established communication related to the 2024 General Election.

In fact, Hasto met JK during a discussion on 'Consolidation for Democracy Post-Ection 2024: Opposition or Coalition?' at the Juwono Sudarsono Auditorium Fisip UI, Depok. At that time, he had time to discuss aspects that need to be criticized from this year's democratic party.

"Earlier I also met Mr. JK. We convey various aspects that this criticism of the 2024 General Election must be carried out because this is our future," he said.

"If we don't do a thorough review, a thorough investigation into what elections will be? Because democratic values, ethical values, legal values, have been dwarfed," he continued.

As previously reported, JK explained that Megawati's meeting was still consolidating with her party so that no meeting had yet to take place. "It's amazing. Big parties must consolidate," said JK when met at the Kalla Group office, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 6.

News that Megawati will meet JK was heard after the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party went to the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta and spoke privately with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). It's just that, I don't know when the exact time will be.

PDIP politician Adian Napitupulu said the meeting between PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and the 10th Vice President and 12 RI Jusuf Kalla would occur. He asked all parties to wait for the exact time.

"We'll just hear, we'll follow," Adian told reporters at the TKRPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 23.

"Adian has not yet detailed what will be discussed. It must have happened," he said.
