Agree To Presidential Regulation On Alcohol, Golkar: In Line With The Job Creation Law

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representative from the Golkar Party faction, Christina Aryani, supports the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 10 of 2021 concerning the Investment Business Sector.

According to him, the Perpres is in line with the spirit of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation which provides convenience for doing business and increases in investment.

"This is in line with the spirit of the Job Creation Law which makes investment easier to boost economic growth," Christina said when contacted by VOI, Monday, March 1.

According to the House of Representative Commission I member, the Presidential Regulation 10/2021 is appropriate to regulate the legality of the liquor industry according to the region. As stated in the Presidential Regulation requirements, investment is carried out with due regard to local culture and wisdom.

"I think this is already appropriate, that specifically for alcoholic drinks, new investment is possible for the North Sulawesi, Papua, NTT, and Bali regions," explained Christina.

In fact, Christina said that the Presidential Decree signed by President Jokowi on February 2 was right on target. He believes that the enforcement of these 4 regions will not open up opportunities for violations to other regions in Indonesia.

"My Presidential Regulation is right on target, it is clear in Appendix III that investment outside the four provinces is only possible to be determined by the Head of BKPM based on the Governor's suggestion," said Christina.

For information, in Presidential Regulation No. 10 of 2021 points 31, 32, and 33 concerning the Liquor Industry Containing Alcohol, Wine and Malt, letter a states that New Investment can be carried out in the Provinces of Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi and Papua with due regard to culture and local wisdom.

In letter b, it is stated that Investment outside of letter a can be determined by the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board based on the recommendation of the Governor.
