BANDA ACEH - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is still investigating owners of up to 4 hectares of cannabis fields that have just been found at three points from two sub-districts in Aceh Besar District.

"Currently, we are still investigating who owns the 4 hectare cannabis land from the two crime scenes in Indrapuri and Lamteuba," said BNN Deputy Narcotics Director for Eradication Brigadier General Rudi Setiawan in Aceh Besar as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 6.

Previously, BNN destroyed an area of 4 hectares of marijuana fields from three different points in Aceh Besar District with a total of 20,000 sticks and a weight of 7 tons.

The three locations for the destruction, namely 2 hectares of two points of cannabis land, some of which have been harvested, are in Lamlung Village, Indrapuri District, the remaining 5,000 sticks.

Another 2 hectares in Meurah Village, Mukim Lamteuba, Seulimeum District. There are 15,000 cannabis trees ready for harvest.

The discovery of this cannabis land originated from information from the public regarding the delivery of marijuana from Aceh-Lampung. BNN then conducted an investigation, then arrested a suspect with the initials RZ.

"The arrest of RZ with evidence of 12 sacks of dried marijuana weighing 200 kg on Saturday (2/3) in Aceh Besar," he said.

Based on the results of investigations in the field, BNN together with the Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) then monitored the cannabis plant in Aceh Besar.

"Based on the results of monitoring, which was followed up with an investigation by a team in the field, three points were found at these two marijuana land locations in Aceh Besar," he said.

From the location of the investigation into the suspect, said Rudi, it was found that there was a marijuana storage warehouse in Indrapuri which allegedly belonged to suspect RZ.

"The suspect RZ is the owner of the warehouse. However, we are still developing this perpetrator and we are investigating who owns and who planted this marijuana," said Ruddi.
