JAMBI - Jambi Mayor Syarif Fasha asked all students to sunbathe in the morning for about 15 minutes. This is requested to do before face-to-face learning with the teacher starts.

Syarif Fasha reviewed the implementation of the first day of school entry face-to-face at SMP Negeri 11 Jambi City. The mayor immediately reviewed the teaching and learning process in the room.

After reviewing the teaching and learning process, the Mayor of Jambi said that the face-to-face teaching and learning process in Jambi City was carried out in two face-to-face sessions. One day online and another day face-to-face in class for students in grades I to V of Elementary School and for grades VII and VIII of SMP and equivalent.

Meanwhile, 6th grade elementary school and 9th grade juior high school and equivalent are required to enter every day and learn face-to-face with their respective teachers.

For face-to-face study hours, only three hours and 15 minutes before entering the class, all students must bask in the morning sun.

Fasha explained that schools that apply for face-to-face learning must submit a recommendation letter from the COVID-19 Task Force and must comply with health protocols.

"Schools must submit a recommendation letter from the COVID-19 Task Force, whether it is appropriate or not, including the first a notification banner or a warning to wear a mask and not remove the mask, the second arrangement of chairs and tables as well, as well as facilities for washing hands and warnings about physical distancing and others", said Fasha, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 1.

In addition, what is not allowed for students is snacks or buying snacks because in the school canteen it is not allowed for merchants to sell at school.

"We also have not allowed outside merchants to enter the school environment or outside the school. Then after school, they go straight home, we suggest parents of students pick them up", he said.

Currently, the Jambi City Government is conducting a swab test on all teaching staff, in an effort to break the chain of COVID-19.

Teachers also have to have a swab test before they teach. Of the approximately 4.000 educators in Jambi City, there are around 1.000 who have been tested for swabs which are held every day.

"This is our effort in providing certainty for the health of the teaching staff for the convenience of students and parents as well", said Syarif Fasha.
