Ahead Of The Succession Of The Chairperson Of PWI Jakarta, The Panpel Finalizes Preparations

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of DKI Jakarta continues to garner preparations for the 2024-2029 PWI Jaya Provincial Conference (Konferprov). The election of the Chairperson and Chair of the PWI Jaya Provincial Honorary Council (DKP) for the next five years will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the City Hall of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

In the election committee meeting which took place on Monday, March 4, 2024) afternoon, at the PWI Jaya Secretariat, Jln. Suryopranoto, Central Jakarta, it was decided to clarify the process of selecting the Chairperson and Chairperson of the PWI Jaya DKP 2024-2029. One aspect that was emphasized was regarding the discretion or bleaching of the Membership Card (KTA) which had expired for more than a year.

"It should be remembered that KTA which expires can be extended or reactivated between March 1 and 31, 2024. After that period, the Central PWI will not serve KTA bleaching," said the Chief Executive of the 2024 PWI Jaya Konferprov, Budi Nugraha, referring to the decision of the PWI Jaya National Conference some time ago.

Konkernas' decision regarding KTA bleaching was conveyed to the heads of the Provincial PWI through a letter on February 23, 2024, signed by the General Chairperson of the Central PWI Hendry Ch. Bangun, Secretary General Sayid Iskandarsyah, and Chairman of the Organization Zulmansyah Sakedang.

The implementation of the Central PWI Decree regarding KTA bleaching applies to all Provincial PWIs. Given the implementation of the PWI Jaya Conference for the election of the chairman and chairman of the definitive DKP, the Acting Chairperson of PWI Jaya, Kesit Budi Handoyo, stated that he would study the new KTA-KTA issued by the Central PWI without going through PWI Jaya. "We will send a letter asking for an explanation regarding this matter," said Kesit in a meeting.

This Konferprov committee meeting is special with the presence of two figures from the Daily Executive of PWI Jaya 2018-2024, who are said to be running for PWI Jaya Chair 2024-2029. They are Kesit themselves, and Iqbal Irsyad, the treasurer. However, there is no certainty regarding the registration time of the two as candidates for chairman.

As for the candidates for the Chairperson of the DKP, several names have emerged as candidates, such as Edison Siahaan, Irdawati, and Tubagus Adhi.

This is the first time the candidate stock exchange for the chairman of the DKP has been so crowded. Previously, what was often mentioned were Theo M Yusuf and Berman Nainggolan.

The election for the Chairperson of the DKP will be carried out after the determination of the Chairperson of PWI Jaya 2024-2029, in accordance with the established mechanism.
