Bawaslu Will Strictly Monitor Re-voting In Kuala Lumpur

JAKARTA - Member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Lolly Suhenty said that the re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was a serious concern for his institution.

Lolly explained all crucial stages, including the PSU. Moreover, he continued, PSU can only take place once or it should not be repeated.

"It is not possible to repeat the PSU. Therefore, this is indeed a serious concern because the PSU process itself is on the recommendation of Bawaslu," said Lolly as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 4.

Bawaslu will pay close attention to all the preparations for the Kuala Lumpur PSU. Then, he said that his party had also prepared the Bawaslu supervisory ranks in Kuala Lumpur to be able to coordinate better.

Lolly said that his party had not yet received the PSU Permanent Voter List (DPT) in Kuala Lumpur. However, he said that his party was always coordinating with the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU).

"Yes, we'll just wait for the KPU because in the past few days we have coordinated to make sure later those who will join the PSU are in accordance with what we are equally careful about, so just wait, the KPU will definitely convey it to the public soon," he said.

Previously reported, KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said the PSU in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, would use two methods and last for two days.

The two methods are voting at polling stations (TPS) and mobile ballot boxes (KSK).

"The method that will be used for PSU in Kuala Lumpur, although what is recommended is the KSK method and the post, in the future our PSU will use two methods, namely the TPS and KSK method," said Hasyim.

He said the PSU for the KSK method was carried out on March 9, 2024 and the postal method was carried out the following day, March 10, 2024.
