NTB Police Willspire Confiscation Of 69 Entrepreneur's Electric Bikes In Gili Trawangan To Polres

West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police will delegate a case of alleged confiscation of electric bicycles belonging to entrepreneurs in the Gili Trawangan tourist area, North Lombok Regency.

The alleged seizure was carried out by a group of Gili Trawangan residents of the Gili Trawangan Electric Bike Association (ASLGT).

"Yes, the report is on my desk, I have not received it. There is a possibility that a report like this will be transferred to the police so that an investigation is carried out quickly," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Syarif Hidayat in Mataram, NTB, Monday, March 4, confiscated by Antara.

The report on the incident that occurred on Saturday, March 2 morning was sent to the police by the Chairperson of ASLGT Budi Handoyo.

"We report several individuals from two cooperatives who forcibly took our electric bicycles on behalf of the Gili Trawangan community," he said.

Budi said that his party also reported the alleged abuse committed by a member of the Cidomo Janur Indah Cooperative operating in Gili Trawangan.

"Our members are also victims of violence and threats. One of our members was beaten by them until he was injured while trying to defend his bicycle," he said.

In that incident, Budi admitted that a group of residents confiscated as many as 69 electric bicycles belonging to 15 businessmen in Gili Trawangan. The electric bicycle is now deposited in the parking area of the mosque in Gili Trawangan.

"The plan is to take it to the edge at the Bangsal Port later," said Budi.

Budi explained that the rise of electric bicycle rentals in Gili Trawangan is only a new alternative offered by entrepreneurs because until now there is no standard regulation regarding the prohibition of operating electric bicycles at tourist sites.

"We will not be possible to go against the rules. So, we refer to what is the national program that is intensifying the use of electric vehicles in Indonesia," he said.

According to him, the act of confiscation of electric bicycles by a group of residents on behalf of the Gili Trawangan community was triggered by allegations of social jealousy between business actors.

According to Budi, one of them came from Cidomo business, a public transportation tool that had been operating in Gili Trawangan for a long time.

He said Cidomo is now setting a fairly high transportation rental price. This makes tourists switch to choose alternative means of transportation, namely electric bicycles whose leases are much cheaper and more practical.

"If Cidomo is only used for one trip, tourists pay Rp. 150,000. It can't be used all day. Why use an electric bicycle? Yes, because the price is affordable," he said.

For the rental price of electric bicycles in Gili Trawangan, entrepreneurs offer IDR 150 to IDR 200 thousand per day.
