PALESTINA - At least 15 children at Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip died from dehydration and malnutrition, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported in Sunday.

"15 children died from malnutrition and dehydration at Kamal Adwan Hospital," said Ministry of Health spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 4.

"We are worried that the lives of six children who are malnourished and dehydrated in the ICU Kamal Adwan Hospital due to power generators and dead oxygen engines," said Qudra.

On February 19 the UN Agency for Children (UNICEF) warned that a sharp increase in cases of malnutrition among children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in the Gaza Strip posed a serious threat to their health, especially given the intense Israeli forces' attacks on the enclave.

Israel has suspended services at 31 hospitals in Gaza due to bombings, destruction and seizure of medical and fuel supplies and some are targeting 152 health facilities, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.

Israel launched a deadly attack on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian Hamas group on October 7.

Israel's retaliatory attacks then killed 30,410 people and injured 71,700 others, accompanied by mass destruction and a basic necessities crisis.

The Israeli war has forced 85 percent of Gaza's population to flee amid a food, clean water and medicine crisis, while 60 percent of the infrastructure there has been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.

Israel is accused of committing genocide in a lawsuit filed with the International Court (ICJ).

The ICJ intermediate decision in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocide and take action to ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza.
