"From the reports we received, the four sub-districts that were flooded were Keramat, Lakea, Biau, and Momonu sub-districts," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Central Sulawesi Province Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Andy Sembiring, Sunday, March 3. He stated that the high rainfall intensity had caused river water in each of the local areas to overflow into residential areas and bad weather also caused tidal waves along the coast. Andy Sembiring explained that three affected villages in Keramat District, namely Busak 1, Busak 2 and Monano Villages. Likewise in Lakea District there are three affected villages, namely Ngune, Lakea II, and Tuinan Villages. Meanwhile, there are five affected sub-districts in Biau District as well as floods, namely Leok I, Kumaligon, Leok II, Kali, and Kulango, as well as one village in Momonu District, namely Pinamula Village. He said the Central Sulawesi BPBP Rapid Response Team (TRC) is still coordinating with local village officials and conducting assessments in the field.

Based on the results of the provisional assessment, he said, as many as 50 people or 10 heads of families (KK) were affected by the flood with four heavily damaged houses and six lightly damaged houses in Busak 1, Keramat District. "For Ngune Village, Lakea District, as many as 228 families or 948 people with 91 toddlers, 31 babies, and 22 elderly, were affected by the flood," he said. For other affected areas, currently there are still assessments," said Andy. He said there were no casualties in the incident, however 25 families or 90 people in Nguane Village fled to a safe place. According to him, flood-affected residents in Buol Regency need logistics in the form of tents, clothes, ready-to-eat food, clothes, and blankets, for residents in this emergency condition. Therefore, he appealed to residents to increase their vigilance if they live in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
