Anggawira Hopes That Prabowo - Gibran's Cabinet Will Be Balanced In Age Composition

Jakarta - The 2024 presidential election can almost certainly be won by pair number 02, Prabowo-Gibran. As the winner of the presidential election, the government that will replace the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government is advised to listen to input when it comes to forming its cabinet. The cabinet that will be formed by Prabowo-Gibran is asked to pay attention to young people.

This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Maju National Young Entrepreneurs Volunteers (Repnas), Anggawira during a podcast on the YouTube channel "Heasik" with the host HMU Kurniadi, Saturday (2/3/2024). Anggawira conveyed that many young people are competent and deserve to sit in the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet.

"I think there are so many young people who have qualifications and have good track records," said Anggawira.

For him, many young people have undoubted capacity, capability and integrity. Therefore, even though the appointment of ministers is the prerogative of the president, he asked Prabowo-Gibran not to forget young people who deserve to be appointed ministers.

"Of course the president has consideration in determining who the presidential assistant is. But, of course, as citizens, we certainly want capable and competent ministers and have a good track record," he said.

According to him, civil society can provide advice and input to Prabowo-Gibran in forming his Cabinet. They are asked to list the names of young people who meet the qualifications to become assistants to the president-wapres.

"Short list alone, the best cadres who have competence and track records of professionalism also meet various criteria," he asked.

Anggawira proposed that the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet be filled with young people under 50 years of age as much as 50 percent and above 50 years as well as 50 percent.

"So I think the composition can be balanced," Anggawira suggested.

Prabowo-Gibran's cabinet can be recruited from the political parties supporting the Prabowo-Gibran coalition, volunteers, practitioners, professionals. This has also been done by the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government starting from the establishment of cabinets for the 2014-2019 period and the 2019-2024 period. The Jokowi-Ma'ruf Cabinet is also filled with many young people, which Prabowo-Gibran can imitate.

"It is not impossible for young people to become ministers. Mas Gibran alone is 37 years old (so Vice President), Mas Nadiem (Makarim) was also when he was appointed minister at 34, Bang Bahlil was appointed at 42 and many were young. There is Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, and also Deputy Minister of ATR," he concluded.
