80 Percent Of Traffic Accident Victims In 2023 Are Productive

JAKARTA - Police Traffic Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Aan Suhanan said 80 percent of traffic accident victims throughout 2023 were categorized as productive age.

"80 percent of accident victims are between 15 and 59 years old," said Aan in Semarang, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 2.

According to him, 152,000 accidents occurred in various regions in Indonesia throughout 2023.

Of that number of accidents, he continued, more than 27 thousand people died.

"This means that 76 people die every day due to traffic accidents," he said.

In addition, he continued, 75 percent of victims of male accidents.

He considered that there were economic and social impacts from the high number of victims.

"Most of them are men, meaning many have to lose the backbone of their families," he said.

Therefore, according to him, it is necessary to commit various stakeholders to commit to carrying out safety actions.

"All elements of society, not only elements of the National Police and the TNI," he added.
