AHY Is On The Top Of A Mountain But Never Climbs, KLB Is An Absolute Solution

JAKARTA - Democratic Party politician Jhoni Allen Marbun stated that the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) was the only step to save the Democrat Party (PD) from the Cikeas family dynasty.

He claimed that the KLB PD could return the party's spirit to its name, open and modern democracy which is also the foundation of the party.

"Once again, the Democrat Party is not an oligarchic dynastic party that leads to a dynasty," said Jhoni in a video received by VOI, Monday, March 1.

Jhoni reminded all cadres starting from the Central Executive Board (DPP), Regional Executive Board (DPD), Branch Executive Board (DPC), and wing organizations throughout Indonesia that the Democrat Party has been labeled by the public as a dynastic party since the first KLB in Bali in 2013. Where SBY became chairman and his biological son, Edhie Baskoro became secretary-general of the PD.

"This is the first time in Indonesia and even in the world, for the first time a political party, a father, SBY, as a general chairman and his son as the secretary-general," he said.

In fact, he said, SBY has denied the historical facts of the birth of the Democratic Party. He said, since the Democrat Party was notarized by 99 party founders in Jakarta, PD founders have also emerged in all provinces, districts and cities throughout Indonesia. They worked hand in hand to struggle to pass KPU verification so that the Democrat Party became the party participating in the 2004 elections.

"By God, I testify that SBY does not sweat at all, let alone bleed, as he has stated on various occasions," he said.

Jhoni explained that SBY joined the PD after passing the KPU verification by entering the name of his wife, Ani Yudhoyono as one of the deputy chairmen. SBY, only contributed IDR 100 million in the form of 4 travel checks at the Mirah Bogor hotel.

"Mr. SBY, after resigning from the cabinet, Mrs. Megawati just appeared at the PD event at the Kinasih Hotel in Bogor, at that time I was the chairman of the committee. This confirms that SBY is not the founder of the Democratic Party," he said again.

Then who is the real coup?

Jhoni explained, in 2010 Anas Urbaningrum was elected democratically as general chairman at the Second Congress in Bandung. However, on his way, Anas stumbled into legal trouble, even though at that time he was not yet a suspect. SBY as chairman of the PD supervisory board and also the President of the Republic of Indonesia then took the power of Anas Urbaningrum by forming a presidium chaired by SBY himself.

Then the Deputy Chairperson Anas Urbaningrum was elected, who no longer had the function of running the Democratic party as the Chairperson.

"This is a coup that happened in PD," said Jhoni.

After Anas Urbaningrum became a suspect, continued Jhoni, there was the first KLB or Third Democratic Party Congress in Bali in 2013 to continue Anas's leadership until 2015. At that time, SBY said he would only continue the remaining leadership of Anas Urbaningrum.

"So I, Jhoni Allen Marbun, was ordered by SBY to persuade Marzuki Alie, who was then chairman of the House of Representative of Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), not to run as a candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party. In fact, at the second Congress in 2010 he received the second-largest vote after Anas Urbaningrum," he explained.

Not only that, at the fourth congress in 2012 in Surabaya, SBY also engineered the congress to become the sole candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party. "This is a form of breaking promises against himself, and the cadres of the Democratic Party throughout the country," said Jhoni.

Most troubling, said Jhoni, there are organizational rules that amputate the rights of the DPD and DPC by taking dues from members of the Provincial and District/City DPRD factions to be partially deposited with the DPP as well as the rights to determine regional heads without any accountability.

Furthermore, at the 5th Congress of March 2020 in Senayan, Jakarta, SBY again engineered the congress procedures that were not as appropriate as they should have been. The discussion and procedure for the event was not carried out, where one of the agendas discussed the terms and procedures for the election of the general chairman.

In addition, there is no accountability report from the General Chairmen of SBY. Even after the speech of the General Chairman, congress participants who did not have the right to vote were expelled from the congress arena.

"Supposedly, all participants in the Congress have the right to speak. Even though voting rights are only used during elections for the general chairman or differences of opinion. Furthermore, SBY designed all DPD heads throughout Indonesia to declare AHY as chairman. That is what they call acclamation," he said again.

Therefore, according to Jhoni, currently, only KLB is a constitutional solution to restore the Democratic Party as a democratic, open, and modern party.

"AHY is at the top of a mountain but has never climbed. That's why, as the general chairman, he does not know how to go down the mountain, so that his father, SBY whom I respect, descends. This is what I call a leadership crisis," stressed Jhoni.

It is known that Jhoni Allen Marbun was one of the 7 cadres who were dishonorably dismissed by the Democratic Party. In fact, his membership as a member of the House of Representative will also be replaced between time (PAW).
