Mother Injured, Her Child Dies After A Motorbike Was Hit By A Train At The Sadewa Crossing Semarang

A 4-year-old child died after a motorbike was hit by a Rel Street Maintenance Vehicle (KPJR) at a gateless crossing on Jalan Sadiveh, Semarang City, today. Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto Wibowo said the unfortunate incident at the crossing between Semarang Poncol and Jerakah Stations began when the KPJR train drove from east to west. Shortly before arriving at the location, he continued, he was driving a motorcycle by a woman and her child who was still a toddler. "The train authorities have honked their horns, but the motorcyclist is still desperate to pass," he said in Semarang, Antara, Thursday, February 29. The victim's own motorbike was dragged by the train due to the incident. The victim's mother who was riding a motorcycle was reported to have suffered injuries, while her 4-year-old son was declared dead. Franoto appealed to road users to always be vigilant and prioritize trains that will pass.

He added that there was no damage to the KPJR train involved in the accident. However, he continued, the incident resulted in a delay in the train journey for 38 minutes due to checking the facilities that had to be done first.
