Junior High School Students Missing In Sunter River Flow Found Lifeless

The joint SAR team managed to find Rafi Aditya (13), a student of SMPN 232 Jakarta who had disappeared from drowning in the Sunter River, Jalan Kayu Mas Utara, Pulo Gadung Village, Pulo Gadung District, East Jakarta.

"The victim has been found dead," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Thursday, February 29.

From VOI's observation at the location, the victim was found not far from the starting point where the missing victim drowned due to being dragged by the river current. The victim's body was found by the joint SAR Team who conducted a search by rubber boat.

The discovery of the victim's body drew attention from residents around the scene. A number of residents packed the area where the victim was found to witness the victim's condition with certainty.

Rafi was reported missing and drowned since 09.00 WIB. As of 13.20 WIB, the victim is still being searched from the joint SAR Team at the location.

"One person drowned. The victim swam in the Sunter river with two friends. Then suddenly the victim was dragged by a strong current and drowned and could not be helped," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Isnawa Adji when confirmed by VOI.

The search for victims is carried out by a joint SAR team consisting of 1 fire department, 1 BPBD TRC unit, 1 Satpol PP unit, 1 PPSU unit, kelurahan personnel, Koramil personnel and Polsek personnel.
