TNI Commander's Plan To Change Lantamal To Not Simultaneous Kodamar 2024, KSAL: The Most Prone

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali said that not all of the main bases of the Indonesian Navy (lantamal) changed their nomenclature to maritime area command (kodamar) in 2024.

He explained that the traffic that turned into Kodamar was only the main base that was ready in terms of facilities and was in areas prone to threats.

"For the lantamal, as stated by the Commander of the TNI, several lantamals have become Kodamar, there are continued lanal (kalgan TNI AL) class A. From the validation of the organization we have prepared. Kodamar-kodamar may not all be lantamal as Kodamar, but there are some that we have prepared, the most vulnerable and the most prepared in terms of facilities," Ali said in response to reporters' questions during a press conference shortly before the 2024 Indonesian Navy Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters (Mabesal), Cilangkap, Jakarta, Thursday 29 February, was confiscated by Antara.

The plan to validate the lantamal organization is also one of the discussions in the 2024 Indonesian Navy Rapim at Headquarters today.

The Navy's Rapim, which was attended by the ranks of the Indonesian Navy leadership, was a follow-up to the Rapim TNI, Rapim TNI-Polri, and Rapim of the Ministry of Defense which were all held this month.

Apart from the issue of organizational validation in the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Ali together with the ranks of the Indonesian Navy also discussed the 2024 TNI AL work plan, priority for operating and training titles this year, security plans after general elections, maintenance and repair plans for the Indonesian Navy's defense equipment, development and empowerment targets for defense areas in Bahari Nusantara Village, as well as plans for implementing cybersecurity within the Indonesian Navy.

The meeting was attended by 138 middle officers and high-ranking officers of the Indonesian Navy, who were also attended by the Head of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) Vice Admiral TNI Irvansyah.
