Accelerate Service, Indonesian Consulate General In Jeddah Issues E-Passport For The First Time

JAKARTA - Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Jeddah issued an electronic passport or e-passport for the first time, as well as being the third representative of the Republic of Indonesia to issue e-passports after the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague and the Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles. The first electronic passport issued by the Indonesian Consulate General (Dirjen) Immigration Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Silmy Karim to the Implementation of the Cultural Information Function of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah Soeharyo Tri Sasongko in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. "Not all Indonesian representatives can issue e-passports. In Indonesia, not all Immigration offices can issue e-passors. Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia that can issue e-passors are quite special, because one of the conditions is already integrated with Simkim (Migravitational Management Information System)," Silmy said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 28. Silmy explained that the need for access to electronic passport services is easily needed by Indonesian citizens (WNI) who live abroad, especially Indonesian citizens with international mobility, is quite high. Electronic passport features are more up-to-date compared to ordinary passports. This affects the visa application process to countries that have preferences for electronic passports. "We are here in the context of service. The concept of good service, the concept of main protection, but support from all Indonesian citizens in Saudi is also very much needed," said Silmy. Silmy added the cooperation between Indonesian citizens in Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to be vital elements in improving services and protection. He emphasized that his party is committed to prioritizing the integration of systems between Indonesian Immigration and Saudi Arabia.

On this occasion, Silmy also opened a discussion forum with Indonesian citizens to discuss actual issues and the latest immigration policies. "Discussion like this is one of our efforts to educate them so that they always obey the rules. If they obey the rules, passports exist, complete documents, the bargaining position is high; then the Indonesian Consulate General and immigration can provide the best service and protection for Indonesian citizens," said Silmy.
