Biden: Israel Loses International Support If Aggression Continues

JAKARTA - United States President Joe Biden said Israel would lose international support if it continued its aggression in Gaza.

Israel has tremendous support from most countries. If they continue to do this with the very conservative government they have, and (Minister of National Security Itamar) Ben-Gvir and others, they will lose support from around the world, and that is not in Israel's interest," Biden said in a live interview on NBC as reported by Anadolu, Wednesday, February 28.

Biden also stressed that the holy month of Ramadan would provide opportunities for a temporary ceasefire.

"There has been an agreement from the Israeli side that they will also not carry out activities during Ramadan, to give us time to get all the hostages out," he said.

"This gives us time to start moving in the direction that has been prepared by many Arab countries," Biden added.

Biden underlined Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel if fighting stops.

"The bottom line is the only way Israel will survive in the end and I have been criticized for saying you don't have to be a Jew to become a Zionist. I'm a Zionist but there's one thing: they also need to take advantage of the call for peace and security for Israel and Palestine, which Hamas takes advantage of," Biden said.
