LAMPUNG - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Lampung Province said that the report of the legislative candidate (Caleg) from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) M Erwin Nasution against the Bandarlampung KPU had been revoked.
"This morning at around 09.30 WIB, Erwin submitted a letter of revocation of the report submitted two days ago to a member of the Bandarlampung KPU," said the Coordinator of the Lampung Bawaslu Election Violation Handling Division in Bandarlampung, Antara, Wednesday, February 28.
Tamri explained that two days ago Bawaslu Lampung received a report from Erwin Nasution's brother, who then had an initial study done.
"Indeed, today we should have submitted the results of Bawaslu's study of the report, but they have withdrawn the report," he said.
So, said Tamri, based on Bawaslu Regulation Number 7 of 2023, regarding the handling of violations that every report that was revoked before registration could be used as initial information to search for clarity about what was conveyed to Bawaslu.
"Later, the results of the search will be studied and a decision will be issued. If for example he violates ethics, we will forward it to the authorities, namely the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP). But if there are other elements, we will also report them to the authorities," he said.
Tamri also revealed that based on the results of the study of the legislative candidate's report, before withdrawing, the reporter must meet the material requirements so that they can be registered.
"The report must be registered later, so it is necessary to meet the requirements for the results of the study, the formal has been fulfilled but the meter has not. So actually today Bawaslu will ask the reporter to meet the material requirements," he said.
So, according to Tamri, in the next two days after Bawaslu delivers the results of the study, the reporter must meet the material requirements that have not been fulfilled.
"When it is fulfilled, we will register and if for example it is not fulfilled, then the report is proven to be non-registration. But because this has been withdrawn, it becomes initial information and it continues to carry out searches," he said.
However, he said, today there are non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have participated in reporting the same problems, with PDIP candidates withdrawing their reports.
"We also want to convey that today they have received reports from NGOs with the same problem, although there is little development in the evidence they provide to Bawaslu," said Tamri.
He explained that based on the report from the NGO, Bawaslu would still conduct an initial study again in the next two days.
"Later, we will convey the results of the study from this NGO report, whether it can be immediately registered or there must be improvements," he said.
Previously, a candidate from PDIP for the electoral district (dapil) IV of Bandarlampung City, M Erwin Nasution, on Monday (26/2) made a report to Bawaslu against one of the commissioners of the Bandarlampung KPU because he felt cheated and had submitted a sum of money.
