Survey Of Indicators Calls Response Assessment Related To Quick Count Describes 2024 Election Results

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute revealed that the majority of respondents rated the quick count results or quick calculations as describing the results of the 2024 General Election.

Based on the release of 'National Survey Findings: Public Evaluation of the 2024 General Election and Latest Issues', the survey results showed that 61.4 percent of respondents knew about the quick count and 38.6 percent answered they did not know.

"The majority of people know or have heard of quick count. Of those who know, 71.1 percent believe the quick count carried out describes the general election results," wrote Indicator, Wednesday, February 28, quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, respondents who answered less or did not believe in the quick count results were 27.7 percent and respondents who answered they did not know or did not answer by 1.2 percent.

Furthermore, Indicators conducted a survey on whether or not respondents knew or not with the results of the official KPU calculation or a real count. About 35 percent of respondents knew the results of the calculation and as many as 65 percent of respondents answered they did not know.

"Of those who know, the majority of 92.5 percent know that the official count results from the KPU, meanwhile the Prabowo-Gibran pair, won more than 55 percent of the votes," said the Indicator.

Then, Indicators conducted a survey of the level of confidence of respondents in the results of the official KPU calculation. The institution concluded that the majority of residents also felt they believed in the results of the real count conducted by the KPU.

This is evidenced by the large percentage of respondents who answered to believe, namely based on all respondents of 75.7 percent and based on those who knew the KPU calculated 82.8 percent.

Indonesian Political Indicators conducted a telephone survey with the national public on February 18-21, 2024 to ask about public satisfaction with the implementation of elections, evaluation of honesty and election justice.

The target population of this survey is Indonesian citizens (WNI) aged 17 years and over or married and have a telephone or cellphone. The number is about 83 percent of the total national population.

The sample was selected through the random digit dialing (RDD) method as many as 1,227 respondents. the survey margin of error is estimated at approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level with the assumption of simple random sampling.
