Bawaslu Suspects Vocational Violations In Kuala Lumpur Involve Foreigners Apart From PPLN

Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja said the potential violations in the election process that occurred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, allegedly involved a number of people other than the overseas election committee (PPLN) who served in the region.

However, Rahmat Bagja has not mentioned in detail the party. He will conduct further explanations after the review of the voting and vote count in Kuala Lumpur is complete.

"The potential for violations that occurred, and this is suspected to involve PPLN, as well as several people outside PPLN," said Rahmat Bagja at the Office of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP), Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 28.

Rahmat admitted that he had asked the election supervisory committee (panwaslu) in Kuala Lumpur to do their best and recommended improvements in the re-voting (PSU).

According to him, there are many problems that are noted by his party regarding the holding of elections in Kuala Lumpur. In fact, he emphasized that there must be improvements and improvements to the system for organizing elections abroad, especially in Kuala Lumpur.

Previously, Monday (28/2), he mentioned that one of the seven former members of the Kuala Lumpur Foreign Election Committee (PPLN), Malaysia, was suspected of committing a criminal offense.

In addition, he continued, the election process in Kuala Lumpur included violating the administration because it was not in accordance with the provisions of Article 81 paragraph (3) of the KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 25 of 2023 concerning Voting and Counting in General Elections.

The KPU will conduct a PSU in Kuala Lumpur on March 9, 2024. The PSU in the foreign region will use two methods, namely the voting method at TPS and using a mobile ballot box (KSK).
