Ace Hasan Wants Ridwan Kamil To Run For West Java Gubernatorial Election, Not DKI

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Ace Hasan Syadzily confirmed that his party recommended two cadre names to run in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. Both are the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Golkar Party DPD, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar and the Deputy Chairperson of Golkar, Ridwan Kamil (RK).

Especially for Ridwan Kamil or who is familiarly called Kang Emil, Ace explained that his party provided two options. Whether to run in DKI or return to be governor of West Java.

"For Mr. Emil, from the start it was given an option whether he would run as a governor of DKI or return to being governor of West Java. Like Golkar also gave an assignment to Mrs. Airin to become a cagub in Banten Province from the Golkar Party," said Ace at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 27.

However, the elite of the banyan party admitted that he wanted Ridwan Kamil to run again as governor of West Java for two terms. This, said Ace, was to perfect the victory of the Golkar Party after gaining a lot of votes for the 2024 Legislative Election in West Java.

"I myself frankly, I have spoken at length with Mr. RK regarding the regional elections, especially the West Java regional elections, I certainly want him to run again in the West Java regional elections," he said.

"Why? Because this is also the momentum for the Golkar Party to reclaim after in the Legislative Election, thank God, the Golkar Party in West Java has become the top party now, and this Golkar Party victory must be perfected by the election of regional heads in West Java. Where Kang Emil is expected to be willing to return to become a candidate for regional head in West Java Province," explained Ace.

However, the chairman of the West Java Golkar DPD said Ridwan Kamil was still recommended to fight to win the DKI 1 seat in the 2024 Pilkada. This is because DKI Jakarta remains the center of economic development.

"Yes, of course, the momentum of the election is very important for the political victory of the Golkar Party. Of course, DKI for the Golkar Party is still very important as an economic center. Even if it will move the capital city to IKN, but we believe that DKI Jakarta is a very important economic center for Indonesia's economic growth," he concluded.
