JAKARTA - The General Elections Commission (KPU) will hold a re-voting or PSU in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 9-10 without the Pos method.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari explained that the re-voting in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was based on Bawaslu's recommendations using the mobile ballot box (KSK) method and polling stations (TPS).

"The plan is for PSU mobile ballot boxes (KSK) in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, March 9, 2024, then the TPS method on Sunday, March 10, 2024," said Hasyim at the KPU office, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 27.

Hasyim explained that the reason for not applying the post method to the re-voting in Malaysia was because the method found many problems, especially on the Permanent Voter List (DPT).

"After we checked together, the belief in the validity and quality of the DPT voter list in Kuala Lumpur was inconclusive in the challenges of Kuala Lumpur's fellow supervisors, so that later this ballot with the post method became unclear to send and all kinds of things," explained Hasyim.

The re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur was based on recommendations from the Panwas and Bawaslu which were then jointly studied.

In order to avoid another error, the KPU also followed the recommendations from Bawaslu so that voter data updating was carried out in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"Why is that recommended, because it turns out that many addresses are not recognized, so later there must be updating of voter data, so that later we at the KPU will start re-voting in Kuala Lumpur by updating voter data based from the DPT," concluded Hasyim.
