KPU Calls Re-vote Vulnerator In Kuala Lumpur Using 2 Methods For 2 Days

JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said the re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, would use two methods and last for two days.

The two methods are voting at polling stations (TPS) and mobile ballot boxes (KSK).

"The method that will be used for PSU in Kuala Lumpur, although what is recommended is the KSK method and the post, in the future our PSU will use two methods, namely the TPS and KSK method," said Hasyim at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Tuesday 27 February, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the PSU for the KSK method was carried out on March 9, 2024 and the postal method was carried out the following day, March 10, 2024.

For the KSK method, he said, the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) will carry out escorts from start to finish. The next day, the ballot will be calculated in conjunction with the results of the PSU from the postal method.

"So the calculation will be carried out simultaneously with the TPS method, so it is hoped that by March 12 there will be a recapitulation of the Kuala Lumpur PPLN vote count. So that later it can complement the recapitulation of votes for elections abroad," he said.

According to him, the KPU's move to hold a re-voting in Kuala Lumpur was to update voter data.

The reason is, in the process of collecting voter list data in 2023, out of a total of 490 thousand voters who should have been matched and researched (coklit), approximately only 12 percent of voters were carried out in the data of potential voters (DP4) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bawaslu also found a fictitious voter list updating committee (pandrih) of up to 18 people. As a result, on voting day, the number of special voter lists (DPK) exploded to around 50 percent in Kuala Lumpur.
