JAKARTA - Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim responded to the inclusion of Ahmad Sahroni's name in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada exchange. Later, Sahroni was involved in sneering with Golkar politician, Ridwan Kamil, who also had a strong opportunity to fight in the DKI gubernatorial election. Hermawi admitted, there are three names that are being prepared and finalized by the NasDem Party for the DKI Regional Head Election. One of them, Sahroni, is often called 'Sultan Priok'. "We have at least 3 qualified candidates. There are young people who are the chairman of the NasDem Faction at the DKI DPRD, Wibi Andrino, then there is Okky Asokawati who has 10 years experience in the DPR RI. And of course the most favorite and highly loved by young people in Jakarta, the son of Tanjung Priok Ahmad Sahroni," Hermawi told reporters, Tuesday, February 27. According to Hermawi, Sahroni, who is also the general treasurer of the NasDem Party, has 10 years experience in the DPR RI. In addition, he said, Sahroni was also born and raised in Jakarta. So he is optimistic that Sahroni will win if he later fights Ridwan Kamil, whose notabase is from West Java. "The RK (Ridwan Kamil, ed) will only enter Jakarta, Sahroni is a Jakarta child, born and raised in Jakarta. So if the two meet later in the DKI 1 final, we are optimistic that Sahroni will outperform RK. Because Sahroni has also entered the 3rd period as Deputy DKI in the DPR RI," explained Hermawi. Despite having the names of candidates for the DKI gubernatorial election, Hermawi emphasized that the NasDem Party is currently still focused on participating in the 2024 Pilleg vote recapitulation at the General Election Commission (KPU) until March 20. Therefore, his party will only discuss if the vote count at the KPU is complete.

"We are still focused on observing the KPU's manual recap for voting, including the recap of the DKI Jakarta KPU. After that, we started discussing with other parties, especially the 01 coalition to explore the DKI Cagub," said Hermawi.
