Perpetrators Of One Family Murder In Penajam Tried Tomorrow, Threatened With Death Penalty

PENAJAM - The man with the initials Jnd (17), or a suspect in the murder of a family of five people in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, is threatened with the death penalty.

"The trial of the murder of a family has begun on Tuesday, February 27, 2024," said spokesman for the Penajam District Court, North Penajam Paser Regency, Amjad Fauzan, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 26.

The perpetrator of the murder or defendant Jnd (17) was charged with a combination article, namely, alternative, subsidiary and cumulative, he continued, including Article 340 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) for premeditated murder, and Article 399 of the Criminal Code for murder which was followed, accompanied by other crimes.

Then Article 363 of the Criminal Code of theft with aggravating circumstances, as well as Article 80 of Law Number 35 of 2014 violence against children that cause death.

"The threat of a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life or the death penalty," he said.

The trial of the murder of a family was carried out behind closed doors and would be accelerated. The reason is that the defendant is a minor.

"Delegation administration is a little fast for child files because the detention period is limited compared to adults," said Amjad Fauzan.

The murder of one family took place in Babulu Laut Village, Babulu District, North Penajam Paser Regency, Tuesday (6/2) at around 02.00 WITA.

Five murder victims are a family, one of the victims is still three years old, the victim is a married couple with the initials W (35) and SW (34) and three children, namely RJS (15), VDS (11), and ZAA (3).

The test results received by the North Penajam Paser Resort Police (Polres) to conduct an examination stated that the suspect Jnd was healthy and had no mental disorders at all.
