KPK Asks AHY To Immediately Report His Wealth

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded ATR/BPN Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to immediately report his wealth after being inaugurated on Wednesday, February 21. Moreover, he has never held the position of state administrator.

"As a newly appointed state administrator, the Minister of ATR/BPN is obliged to submit a special LHKPN report for the beginning of his tenure," said KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati to reporters in a written statement quoted on Saturday, February 24.

Ipi said AHY had to report within three months of his inauguration. This provision is contained in Commission Regulation (Perkom) No. 2 of 2020 concerning Procedures for Registration, Announcement, and Examination of Assets of State Administrators.

Then he is required to return to submitting his report every year during his tenure. AHY could also report after he finished his duties.

"It is mandatory to report that those who are still in the position of PN must submit periodic LHKPN every 1 year no later than March 31, 2024, with the position of assets as of December 31," he said.

The KPK said there was no reason for AHY not to report. Ipi said this is an obligation that has been regulated in Law Number 28 of 1999 paragraphs 2 and 3 concerning the Implementation of a State that is Clean and Free from Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism.

"The law requires PN to be aware of its wealth before, during, and after taking office. PN is also obliged to report and announce its wealth before and after taking office," said Ipi.

As previously reported, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, who is the eldest son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, was inaugurated as Minister of ATR/BPN replacing Hadi Tjahanto. This change was due to the fact that the former TNI Commander was appointed as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) replacing Mahfud MD.

Hadi and Agus were inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21. Meanwhile, Mahfud MD resigned because he did not want to have a conflict of interest while running as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) with Ganjar Pranowo.
