KPK Will Letter AHY Who Is Now Minister Of ATR/BPN, What's Wrong?

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to write to the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) who has just been inaugurated as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPR). He was asked to report his wealth.

"The plan is that in 1-2 weeks we will write to him to report his assets," said KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan in a written statement quoted on Friday, February 23.

Pahala said that every newly appointed official is obliged to report his wealth without exception. The rules are contained in KPK Regulation Number 02 of 2020.

"For officials who have just been inaugurated, the deadline for the initial special reporting to take office is three months from the time the person concerned is sworn in," he said.

As previously reported, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, who is the eldest son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, was inaugurated as Minister of ATR/BPN replacing Hadi Tjahjanto. This change was due to the fact that the former TNI Commander was appointed as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) replacing Mahfud MD.

Hadi and Agus were inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21. Meanwhile, Mahfud MD resigned because he did not want to have a conflict of interest while running as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) with Ganjar Pranowo.
