Mahfud MD Questions Sirekap Audit: Still Not Involved

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate Mahfud MD said that the calculation of the Election Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) was still out of order.

"Sirekap is still out of order. He said it had been audited by the authorities. When will it be audited and in what form is the audit? Of course there will be certification," Mahfud told reporters, Thursday, February 22.

According to him, the audit process must be carried out by an independent institution. That way, the results obtained can be objective.

For example, the audit process can be carried out by corporations involved in the field of information technology or IT. In fact, it could also involve universities that do have the ability.

"If you really want to be objective, the digital forensic audit is by an independent institution. By computer experts, there are already many corporations that are good at that field. There are also many universities, then many professionals in the field," he said.

Prosea audit is considered very important to do. This is because mistakes in Sirekap jurisprudence are not the only time this has happened.

"The mistake was repeated to this day and occurred in various places. If the fault is two or three, this is tens and varies. Therefore, the audit is important," said Mahfud.
