Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto sowan to the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf at the PBNU office, Jakarta.

Hadi admitted that he deliberately came to the PBNU office and met Gus Yahya, YahyaCholilStaquf's nickname, to coordinate regarding the security and order situation in the future, especially until the elected president and vice president for the 2024-2029 period were sworn in on October 20, 2024.

"Therefore, the important agenda that I have to do is to coordinate with figures, then mass organizations (community organizations), are part of the nation's component that must be held tightly," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 22.

The former minister of agrarian and spatial planning said he had coordinated with the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Of the two, Hadi has received reports of the Indonesian situation so far it is safe and conducive.

"This must be maintained, so that the agenda until the end of the year is well maintained," added Hadi.

He emphasized that religious figures, including PBNU, are important partners of the government to keep the situation conducive.

"This PBNU is a very large community organization, which is Muslim-religious, from structural to cultural. Therefore, (PBNU) has a big role to play in contributing to the conducive situation like today post-pileg, presidential election, February 14, 2024," explained Hadi.

During the meeting, Hadi explained that he and Gus Yahya also discussed activities that could be carried out to maintain harmony and maintain the Indonesian situation to be safe and peaceful.

"We can do some activities in the field to be able to invite the public to remain calm and by the General Chairperson of PBNU we discussed it," he said.

Meanwhile, at the press conference, Gus Yahya admitted that he was ready to help the government to maintain a peaceful situation during the political year until later a new president was elected.

"God willing, we will be able to maintain a conducive situation," said Gus Yahya.
