2 Houses Drifted By Flash Floods In Sumbawa NTB

SUMBAWA - Flash floods again hit the district of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Wednesday, February 21. Two sub-districts, namely Buer and Alas, were hit by flash floods that submerged six villages and decided on several connecting bridges. This is also what shocked the community, because indeed rainfall is not too large in the downstream region, but heavy rain occurred in the mountain. As a result, flash floods occurred and hit six villages in Buer sub-district," he said, Thursday, February 22. In addition, the swiftness of flash floods carrying wood material, making several connecting bridges in several villages to two houses were swept away by flash floods. There are two houses that were swept away by the floods, the bridges commonly used by the community were also cut off and made the community unable to move in the village of Kalabeso. This must be handled, "he said. Furthermore, he added as many as 23 houses and hundreds of families in the village of the birds were flooded up to a height of two meters. In Labuhan Bird village there are 23 houses that were badly flooded,' he concluded.

The villages that were hit by flash floods in Buer District, namely Kalabeso Village, Labuhan Bird Village, Jurumapin Village, and Alas District, are Marente Village. Until now, the Sumbawa Regency BPBD reported that flash floods had begun to recede and residents had started cleaning up the flash flood material that had entered their homes.
