Bogor City DHF Case Rises, Bima Arya Asks For Simultaneous Action Areas To Fight Jentik

BOGOR - Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Bogor City experienced a spike. The Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya has ordered regional elements, sub-districts, sub-districts, and health centers to carry out simultaneous movements to eradicate mosquito larvae and ensure the availability of rooms in adequate health facilities.

So far throughout 2024, from data from the Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes), four children have died from dengue fever.

"Last night I also found that the ER was also full. There was an upward trend in children's patients, especially in dengue fever. So this area has been ordered, instructions to move to eradicate mosquito nests, larvae," Bima Arya said in his statement, Thursday, February 22.

The distribution of residents affected by dengue fever continued Bima Arya evenly in six sub-districts, and there have been no special reports regarding areas experiencing a very high spike.

However, he requested that agencies and regions continue to monitor the development of dengue cases in Bogor City.

In a separate location, the Head of the Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes), Sri Nowo Retno, said that the situation of dengue cases in Bogor City in January had 389 cases and in February 2024 there were 361 cases, with the number of deaths in the January to February 2024 period as many as 4 people.

When compared to dengue cases in 2021-2023 in Bogor City in a row, there were 526, 1,531 and 1,474 cases with consecutive death tolls of 7, 9 and 9 cases.

"The highest number of patients is in 2022 and the highest death rate is in 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, the number of dengue cases in 2023 is lower than the number of dengue cases in 2022," he said.

In an effort to control the disease, the Bogor City Health Office has issued a Circular of Preparedness for the Increase in dengue cases in the rainy season on January 20, 2024.

Furthermore, the Health Office also made efforts to increase community participation in efforts to control the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector according to the 1st Movement of House 1 Jumantik (G1R1J) by carrying out Mosquito Eradication (PSN) activities independently once a week.

"For controlling the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector, it is carried out chemically by carrying out Fogging Focus activities on indications, biologically with Biolarvasida (Jetik Pemakakan Bacteri) and physically with PSN Aedes aegypti," he said.

In addition, the Health Office also increased the speed of diagnosis of dengue fever using NS-1 which was distributed to health centers.

"Administrative management of patients in health care facilities to prevent death, strengthen surveillance systems for early detection, prevention and control of cases and KLB dengue fever, mobilize the implementation of PSN on 7 (seven) order, including settlement arrangements, workplaces, food management facilities, health facilities, educational institutions, public places and sports facilities," he said.
