BMKG Asks People To Beware Of Heavy Rain And Strong Winds In These 14 Regions

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a national weather forecast for Thursday 22 February. A total of 14 regions in Indonesia have the potential to experience heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The BMKG asked the public to be vigilant because a number of areas in Indonesia have the potential to experience heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds, according to weather early warnings.

Based on the BMKG website monitored by ANTARA on Thursday morning, it is stated that heavy rains are predicted to fall in a number of areas in Indonesia with 14 areas with alert status due to the impact of the rain.

The 14 areas with alert status include Aceh, North Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Lampung, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Banten, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and Papua.

Meanwhile, several other areas are forecasted to rain with moderate intensity which can be accompanied by lightning or lightning, such as in Kupang Regency and City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Morowali and North Morowali Regencies in Central Sulawesi.

BMKG predicts that several other areas will only experience sunny cloudy weather, such as in the provinces of Bali, DIY, West Kalimantan, Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, Riau, and West Sumatra.

For the DKI Jakarta area, the majority in the morning experience cloudy skies and simultaneously experience cloudy weather during the day. Shifting to night, several areas of Jakarta, such as South and East Jakarta, are predicted to experience light rain.
