Prosecutors In Surabaya Break Through Red Light Hit 2 Cars, 3 People Injured

The Toyota Innova Reborn car driven by the prosecutor with the initials H hit two cars from the opposite direction after running a red light in Surabaya.

Deputy Head of Traffic for Surabaya Polrestabes Police Commissioner (Kompol) Fani Rakhim explained that the incident occurred on Jalan Panglima Sudirman and the Darmo Surabaya intersection on Wednesday, February 21, at 00.40 WIB.

"It's a straight asphalt road, empty traffic," he said, quoted by ANTARA.

After running a red light, the Toyota Innova Reborn driven by Attorney H from the east hit a Suzuki Ertiga car driving from the west.

"Then swayed, then hit the Innova car," said Kompol Fani.

This incident left three people injured

immediately rushed to the Dr Soetomo Surabaya Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in the early hours of that morning.

Kompol Fani revealed that one of the victims suffered serious injuries to this day is still undergoing treatment at Dr Soetomo Hospital in Surabaya.

"Meanwhile, two other victims who were injured have been taken home by their families," he said.

Kompol Fani confirmed that the driver of the Innova Reborn car who caused the accident after running a red light was immediately secured by officers from the Traffic Accident Unit (Laka Lalu) of the Surabaya Police.

"The perpetrator did not run away. Immediately secured by colleagues from the Laka Unit," he said.

Information circulating, before running a red light on Jalan Raya Darmo caused an accident involving two other cars, the prosecutor from the Tanjung Perak District Attorney's Office in Surabaya first hit a peanut seller on Jalan Panglima Sudirman Surabaya.

"The information that hit the peanut seller is still being investigated by fellow investigators," said Kompol Fani.

According to a police investigation, Prosecutor H ran a red light, causing an accident due to lack of concentration so that he was unable to control the vehicle.

"Maybe because he's sleepy or tired," said Kompol Fani.
