JAKARTA - Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri said there were still 514 polling stations that had not yet carried out the voting process until Friday, February 16. The reason is due to bad weather to political factors in the noken system.
"“As of February 14 (February) that night there were still 1,297 polling stations that had not voted and yesterday there were 783 polling stations that carried out, so that as of today 514 polling stations remain that have not voted," Fakhiri said in his statement, Friday, February 16.
Data from the Papua Regional Police for Papua Province until now there are still 31 polling stations that have not submitted, namely in Mamberamo Raya Regency as many as 19 polling stations and 12 polling stations in Waropen Regency.
“ For Central Papua Province, 392 polling stations that have not yet passed, namely Paniai Regency as many as 92 polling stations, Intan Jaya 295 polling stations and Nabire Regency as many as 5 polling stations,” said Inspector General Fakhiri.
As for Papua Province, there are 91 polling stations spread across Jayawijaya Regency 4 polling stations and 87 polling stations in Tolikara Regency.
With this figure, it means 95.5 percent of TPS in the jurisdiction of the Papuan Police who have made the voting.
The percentage was obtained based on the number of polling stations in the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police as many as 15,213, the remaining 514 polling stations have not yet carried out the election process.
The reasons for the absence of polling stations are the absence of transportation, bad weather, and the political factors of the noken system.
“ For in the Papua region of the Mountains and Central Papua, it is due to the political factor of the noken system. The public's vote is still being given to whom, while those in Paniai are due to election logistics being burned, while those in Mamberamo Raya are transportation problems,” said Fakhiri.
