PPP Optimistic To Escape Parliamentary Threshold 4.04 Percent

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) General Chairperson (Ketum) of PPP Muhammad Mardiono said he was optimistic that his party would pass the parliamentary threshold or parliamentary threshold in the 2024 election.

"Alhamdulillah, of course we are grateful, based on the results of a quick calculation of the survey agency, one of which is Charta Politica, showing that PPP has passed the parliamentary threshold with 4.04 percent, of course we will guard and oversee the recapitulation to completion at the KPU," he said in a written statement, Thursday, February 15, quoted by Antara.

According to him, this is inseparable from the hard work of all party elements who have struggled more than a year ago. All components of the sharia assembly and the deliberation board, daily administrators of the DPP, DPW to DPC and branches throughout Indonesia and of course legislative candidates at all levels.

"Thank you and the highest appreciation I convey to all PPP cadres who have worked hard, and also to the people who have given their trust and trust in PPP. God willing, PPP will maintain this mandate for the benefit of the people, nation and state as well as the people of Indonesia," he said.

Mardiono stated that regarding the position of the quick count version of the vote calculation in a number of survey institutions, which showed a plus-minus 0.5 percent figure from the parliamentary threshold, PPP actually encouraged all legislative and cadres as well as witnesses and volunteers to jointly oversee the vote count. The PPP DPP has also officially prepared assistance and advocacy if there are legislative candidates who feel aggrieved in the vote count process.

"I convey to PPP candidates throughout Indonesia, this is the time for us to oversee the vote count and the PPP DPP has prepared a device for advocacy," he said.

He said, fast calculations are not yet the final result, so PPP will continue to strengthen witnesses in all regions in Indonesia, until the results of the KPU manual recapitulation are completed on March 20, 2024.

The 2024 election includes the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD with a national voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.
