2024 Election Campaign Attributes In Jakarta Reach 8.5 Tons, Processed Into Compos To RDF

Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Sarjoko, revealed that the waste used for the 2024 election campaign props in Jakarta reached 8.5 tons or more precisely 8,520 kilograms. The campaign attribute waste was collected from the decline actions taken by the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government during the calm period of the 2024 General Election, from 11 to 13 February. "The garbage from the campaign props was brought to the waste processing facility in TB Simatupang first," said Sarjoko in a short message, Thursday, February 15. Sarjoko said the majority of the campaign props (APK) were in the form of wood and bamboo. Then, the other garbage is banners, billboards, banners, plastics, and cloth. He continued, the remnants of this no longer used campaign attribute will be processed into compost so that the fuel refuse derivative fuel (RDF). "For garbage from wood / bamboo, it can be processed into compost. Meanwhile, banners / billboards made from plastic can be RDF," said Sarjoko. "For those who are made from textiles, they can enter the Bantar Gebang PLTSa, but they must be disbursed first at the Sumatupang TB facility," he continued. Previously, the Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin said that 309,633 campaign props (APK) in Jakarta had been deployed since the campaign period ended until the second day of calm. The decline in campaign attributes was carried out in five administrative cities and the Thousand Islands Regency from 11 February morning to 12 February at 12.00 WIB.

"The 309,633 APKs that we have lowered consist of 62,616 banners, 26,861 billboards, 92,831 banners, 100,941 flags, 16.340 pamphlets/Stiker sheets, and 10,044 others," Arifin told reporters, Monday, February 12. The number of campaign attributes that were most taken down was in East Jakarta, namely 78,488 APK, then South Jakarta 75,965 APK, Central Jakarta 66,102 APK, West Jakarta 52,966 APK, North Jakarta 29,528 APK, Thousand Islands 3,018 APK, and Provincial Level 3,566 APK.
