Jokowi Admits He Wants To Meet Megawati Soekarnoputri

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) opened his voice about asking to meet the Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri who was facilitated by the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X (Sultan HB X). Jokowi said that the meeting with Megawati was a very good gathering for national figures. "The name of the relationship with all the national figures is very good. For this country, it is very good," said Jokowi at JiExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, February 15. Previously, the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X (Sultan HB X) admitted that he was asked to be an intermediary in the meeting of Jokowi and PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. It is known that the relationship between Jokowi and the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati is reportedly experiencing a resilience, especially after the two had different direction of support in the 2024 presidential election.

PDIP is known to carry the presidential candidate pair (candidate) and vice presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. Meanwhile, Jokowi has never officially declared the direction of his support in the 2024 presidential election, his eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, running as vice president of presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto.
