Bali Provincial Government Ensures Security Of Pungutan Wisman Applications

DENPASAR - Bali Provincial Government ensures the safety of foreign tourist applications (tourists) is maintained because they have gone through testing before being used during the trial period until the implementation starts February 14, 2024.

"App security has gone through a long process, including from the Cyber Agency," said Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Cokorda Bagus Pemayun, in Denpasar, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.

In fact, he continued, his party invited hackers during security testing.

"We are testing, inviting hackers, how can this application be broken into? So far, it has not (be able to be broken into)," he added.

The application uses computational services from the United States, namely Amazon Web Service (AWS).

Meanwhile, during the operational trial period on Wednesday (7/2) payments, Rp1.4 billion was successfully withdrawn from 9,220 foreign nationals until the launch period on Monday (12/2).

On the other hand, his party also promised transparency of foreign tourists' levies, including their use which was announced through the Love Bali application.

"As part of transparency, we don't want cash and it goes straight into the regional treasury through the application so it's transparent and measurable. People can monitor it through the application, we will convey it in Love Bali completely," he said.

There is also the legal basis for collecting foreign tourists in Bali, namely Law Number 15 of 2023 concerning the Province of Bali, then the derivative rule, namely Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2023 concerning levies for foreign tourists for cultural protection and the Balinese natural environment, as the legal basis for the levy.

The regional regulation states that foreign tourists' levies have the aim of protecting customs, traditions, cultural arts and local wisdom of the Balinese people.

Then, the breeding and maintenance of culture and the natural environment which is the attraction of tourism in Bali, improving the quality of service and implementing Balinese cultural tourism and becoming a guideline in the implementation and management of levies for foreign tourists.
