JAKARTA - A total of 1,059 Indonesian citizens (WNI) voted for them in the 2024 General Election at the Istanbul Foreign Voting Center (TPSLN), Turkey, on Sunday (11/2).

Chairman of the Election Committee for Foreign Affairs (PPLN) Istanbul Aldi Subakti expressed his gratitude to all Indonesian people in the Marmara region (Istanbul and its surroundings) for their high participation in this democratic party.

"The extraordinary enthusiasm with the participation of 1,059 voters in the 2024 General Election in Istanbul creates a safe and peaceful process without any intervention, noise, and even commotion," Aldi said in a written statement from PPLN Istanbul as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 12.

The number of Indonesian citizens who became a fixed voter list (DPT) in Istanbul reached 3,157 people.

Among these, 2,436 people submitted ballots directly at the TPS located at theengkab Bhosporus Hotel, while the rest used the mobile ballot box (KSK) and post method.

However, because many Indonesian citizens returned to Indonesia for various reasons, the number of voters participating in Istanbul was less than 50 percent.

Nevertheless, PPLN Istanbul, supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Istanbul, continues to work hard to ensure that each stage of the election is carefully monitored, and every step is in accordance with a clear and transparent legal framework.

"We really appreciate all the voters who participated and succeeded in this election. We also don't forget to all ranks who have worked hard and are excited to ensure the smooth implementation of this election," said Aldi.

In the election process, the Indonesian diaspora abroad chose the president, vice president, and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2nd District of Jakarta, which includes Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and Foreign Affairs.
