PB HMI Instructs Its Cadres To Be Active And Massive In Guarding The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The Executive Board of the Islamic Student Association (PB HMI) has instructed its cadres to actively oversee the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

Chairman of PB HMI 2024-2026 Bagas Kurniawan said HMI is an independent student organization that always oversees the success of democratic parties in Indonesia.

"For this reason, we instruct all HMI cadres throughout Indonesia to actively and massively oversee democracy and monitor the implementation of the 2024 General Election," Bagas said, quoting Antara.

Not only that, PB HMI asked all officers and the government to maintain neutrality.

"We ask the central government, provincial governments, district/city governments, sub-districts/villages, as well as state civil servants, the TNI and Polri to maintain neutrality," Bagas explained.

PB HMI juga meminta kepada Presiden Joko Widodo untuk berkomitmen menjaga nilai-nilai demokrasi guna mewujudkan Pemilu 2024 yang damai dan berinjari.

"We ask President Jokowi to maintain democratic values and be committed to realizing peaceful elections and integrity," said Bagas.

Moreover, election organizers, namely the KPU and Bawaslu throughout Indonesia, must maintain the integrity of the democratic party this time.

"We ask that election organizers, especially the KPU and Bawaslu, both at the central and regional levels must maintain integrity and neutrality in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections," he said.

Bagas also hopes that the implementation of the 2024 General Election can be a momentum to maintain the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation based on the Luber (Langsung, General, Clean) and Jurdil (Honest, and Fair) elections.

The Indonesian KPU appointed 18 participants for the 2024 General Election, namely (according to the serial number) of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Gerindra Party, PDI-P, Golkar Party, NasDem Party, Labor Party, and the Gelora Indonesia Party.

Next, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN), Partai Hanura, Partai Garuda, Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), Partai Demokrat, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), Partai Perindo, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), and Partai Ummat.

In addition, the election for legislative members (pileg) was also attended by six local political parties, namely the Aceh Nanggroe Party, the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at and Taqwa Generation Party, the Aceh Darul Party, the Aceh Party, the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, and the Aceh People's Independent Solidity Party.

The legislative elections, including the DPD RI Member Election, simultaneously with the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections on February 14, 2024.

The Indonesian KPU has also determined the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election participants, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.
