Golkar Last Campaign In Bandung, Target 116 Legislative Seats

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party held its last grand campaign at Eldorado Dome Lembang, Bandung City, West Java, and again conveyed its target of obtaining a total of 116 legislative seats in the 2024 General Election.

The head of the Golkar Campaign Organizer, Tantowi Yahya, said that the campaign was packaged in the form of a music concert that raised the tagline to pick up Golkar's victory from Bandung for all of Indonesia.

"The event which was attended by the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto along with thousands of party cadres is clear evidence of solidity and enthusiasm to maintain the party's glory and victory of the Prabowo-Gibran pair," said Tantowi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 9.

The Golkar Party together with the Gerindra Party, PAN, Crescent Star Party, Democrat Party, Indonesian Gelora Party, Garuda Party, PSI, and PRIMA support the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 Presidential-Vice Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Tantowi explained that the General Chairperson of Golkar together with party cadres had traveled around Indonesia during the 2024 election campaign period to absorb aspirations and at the same time ask for public support during the vote on February 14, 2024. Tantowi also believes that the public will later elect a party numbered 4 during the legislative election which will take place simultaneously with the presidential election on February 14.

In the last campaign event, called the final campaign by Tantowi, various art and music performances were displayed for the community. Several band groups that performed, including the Republic of Band and Richard 'OK Gas' Jersey, then there was also a stand-up comedy from comic Marchel Widianto.

The music concert also, Tantowi added, would be enlivened by the Angklung Malioboro performance and the rows of performances from Garuda Emas.

"Not only as an entertainment event, this concert is also a manifestation of the spirit promoted by the Golkar Party to create a peaceful campaign as an integral part of the party's vision and mission in building a prosperous nation," said Tantowi.

He emphasized that the closing campaign of Golkar would also be a place to strengthen the determination of the party with cadres to win the Prabowo-Gibran pair in the 2024 presidential election and obtain 116 legislative seats in the 2024 election.

"This victory concert is not only a political party, but also an important momentum for the long journey of the Golkar Party to guard Indonesia forward," said Tantowi.

In the last three days before the last day of the campaign period on February 10, political parties and pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates concentrated their campaign activities on the island of Java, including West Java.

Of the total 204.8 million voters in the 2024 General Election, 115.37 million of them settled on the island of Java.

Of the total six provinces in Java, West Java and East Java, there are two largest pockets of votes compared to Central Java, Banten, DKI Jakarta, and DI Yogyakarta. The total voters in West Java reached 35.7 million people, East Java 31.4 million people, 28.2 million people in Central Java, 8.84 million voters in Banten, 8.25 million voters in Jakarta, and 2.87 million voters in Yogyakarta.
